The Samoa government has allocated an additional half a million Samoan tala of public funds or more than 250 thousand US Dollars to national rugby side in preparation for the up-coming World Cup in France.

The funds are included in the 2007/2008 financial year budget to be approved in parliament this week.

The prime minister and chairman of the country's Rugby Union, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi says, the additional funds will make a total of one million tala allocated for the national rugby team.

The prime minister says the government will continue to inject more funds into Manu Samoa before the start of the World Cup.
