Former head of Fiji Visitors bureau keen on political life

The former chief executive of the Fiji Visitors bureau, Bill Gavoka, who resigned this week citing personal reasons, has revealed that he wants to enter politics.

Mr Gavoka has told Fiji TV that he as always been an SDL man, believes strongly in the party's manifesto and will fight the next general election on an SDL ticket.

He says he resigned because since December he had found it hard to reconcile some his beliefs with some of the hurts he saw in the country and being unable to do anything about it.

Mr Gavoka says the best way of getting people together to express their feelings, their hopes and their aspirations is through the political process.

He also wants to unite the races and says he will be doing his groundwork before the next elections.
