Taxi companies in Fiji fear impact of huge rise in petrol prices

Taxi companies and drivers in Fiji say they will suffer substantially due to a rise in petrol prices.

Kerosene, diesel and other fuel prices will rise from tomorrow by up to 27 US cents per litre.

The director of B. K. Taxi in Suva, Bal Kishoer says this will have a big impact.

"It is a very huge price rise, it is very bad for our business. Automatically the business will go down because we won't benefit anything. And the taxi fare is not going up. At present [business] in Fiji is really going down day by day."
