The new deputy commissioner of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption, Lt Col George Wesley Langman, has replaced the commission's chief investigator.

Lt Col Langman has brought in Marika Taufa as the new chief investigator following an agreement with the new police commissioner, Captain Esala Teleni.

He says the former chief investigator, Spuertintende4t Nasir Ali, and Jai Narayan will be returning to the police where they will investigate allegations of corruption within the force.

Lt Col Langman says the Commission Against Corruption will now be handling all the serious allegations of corruption while Mr Ali and his team will be handling the other cases.

He says they are also drawing up a national strategy to refocus on the big issues of corruption and re-examine their approach to investigations and the seizure of documents.
