A planned meeting in Paris between the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, and the French Polynesian president, Gaston Tong Sang, is now to be held at the beginning of this week.

The meeting was to be held on Friday but was cancelled because of the funeral of Claude Pompidou the widow of the late President Georges Pompidou.

The French Polynesian president is expected to outline his plans aimed at the territory's economic development.
