Samoa Kidney Foundation boss dumped

2:55 pm on 9 July 2007

Samoa's National Kidney Foundation is to look for a new boss after the cabinet terminated the service of the chief executive officer, Leaupepe Penny Mata'utia.

This follows an investigation of the government audit office, although details are not known.

Leaupepe was suspended early this year when the Foundation's finance manager, Tu'utu'u Fuao, was dismissed after allegations that 20,000 US dollars had gone missing.

The former finance manager is now facing charges of theft as a servant and forgery

The National Kidney Foundation is responsible for the managing of the country's first dialysis unit.
