Chinese firm invests in Fiji construction company

A major Chinese construction and engineering company is to invest millions of dollars in Fiji's construction industry in a joint venture with a local company.

The Fiji Sun reports that the Qingdao Construction Group based in China's Shandong Province has formed the joint venture with Fiji businessman, Dan Lobendhan.

The report says Qingdao already operates in 20 countries around the world including Papua New Guinea and in Samoa where it is building the South Pacific Games village.
