Samoa's Council of Churches is to meet for the first time this week with the local Fa'afafine Association to discuss HIV/Aids.

The Council's secretary, the Reverend Fepa'i Koria, says he is looking forward to the two-day meeting which starts in two days.

The Reverend Koria says the opportunity will also be given to members of the Fa'afafine Association to raise their views on various matters that divide the churches and the public.

He says human rights are one important issue the church should be more aware of.

The Reverend Koria says the church must play a role in bringing all sides of the community together.

The Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, is the patron of the Association.
