Former PNG prime minister has reportedly lost his Parlimentary seat

Papua New Guinea television reports that a former prime minister Sir Rabbie Namaliu has lost his parliamentary seat.

With elections about to end, Sir Rabbie is reported to have lost his Kokopo Open seat in East New Britain to an independent candidate, Patrick Tammur.

Sir Rabbie had been in national politics for 25 years

He is the leader of the Pangu Party and has served in the last government as the treasurer.
