American Samoa's Chamber of Commerce says one initiative the proposed Visitor's Bureau could concentrate on, is the cruise ship industry.

The Chamber president David Robinson says it can develop ways for tourists on cruises to enjoy and experience the Samoan culture during their visit.

He says its taken two years for the government to look at an independent tourism authority in the territory.

American Samoa's Governor Togiola Tulafono said he will submit legislation for Fono approval to create the new independent government agency to work with the private sector, in tourism development.
