12 new cases of dengue fever in American Samoa

12 new cases of dengue fever have been confirmed in American Samoa within the last week, bringing the total number of cases this year to 63.

Twenty three patients, fifteen adults and eight children were admitted to LBJ Hospital for treatment

The remaining 40 cases were treated on an outpatient basis.

Of the 63 people who tested positive for dengue fever, 39 were from the Western District and 24 were from the Eastern District on the main island of Tutuila.
