A motion of no-confidence against Solomon Islands Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare was withdrawn in parliament this morning.
But it's unclear whether the withdrawal will affect a High Court action for which Mr Sogavare served a summons on both the Speaker of Parliament, Sir Peter Kenilorea, and the intended mover of the motion, Opposition MP, Edward Huni'ehu.
The Prime Minister was seeking a ruling on whether Sir Peter is guilty of misconduct for publicly expressing a personal opinion on a matter to be raised in a motion.
Mr Sogavare was also seeking a declaration that the motion contravened standing orders because it raises questions on which parliament has already taken decisions.
However, Sir Peter has confirmed Mr Huniehu withdrew the motion this morning.

IN:......The mover has decided to withdraw it - Mr Huniehu. He suggested deferment. I reminded him under Solomon islands standing orders, there's no provision for deferment of motions but there is provision for withdrawal of motinos and hence he withdrew the motion.
