Fiji police say the cases of two men, who both died after being allegedly beaten by soldiers half a year ago, are still with the director of public prosecutions.

Sakiusa Rabaka and Nimilote Verebasaga died after being allegedly beaten by soldiers.

Police Assistant Superintendent, Ulaisi Ravula, says police have investigated the two deaths and have given their findings to the DPP, where they remain.

"For the Sakiusa Rabaka and Nimilote Verebasaga cases, our findings are with the director for opublic prosecutions and right now consultations are continuing between the deputy police and the legal wing of the Fiji military forces in regards to the case."

Ulaisi Ravula meanwhile says seven police officers have been charged and are before the court for allegedly beating 31 year old Tevita Malasebe to death while in police custody.

He says the seven police officers are on half paid leave.
