US official arrested in American Samoa over airport drugs find

A delegate to the US Coral Reef Task Force meeting was arrested in American Samoa in connection with a drugs find.

A customs sniffer dog detected marijuana on the woman as she was lining up at the immigration counter following her arrival from Hawaii.

The woman is a federal employee from Washington D.C.

Possession of drugs carries a five-to-ten year jail term or a fine of 5,000 to 20,000 US dollars or both, regardless of the quantity of drugs found.
