American Samoa's Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin says it would be almost impossible to obtain any waiver to cabotage regulations for the Territory.
The territory has been seeking a waiver to the cabotage rules, which refer to the legal restriction to domestic carriers of air transport between points within a country's borders.
The congressman says he's already informed the Senate president that a request for a waiver to the cabotage regulations, would not be well received by Congress.
"Members of congress are going to ask me why should you be made the exception when we are not. Its always easier to be included in something you're not in, but when you start asking for waivers and for exceptions to making you special, you know what I mean, then other members of congress don't look kindly on that sort of situation."
