Niue to write letter of complaint to International Touch Federation

10:43 am on 31 August 2007

The President of Niue Islands Touch Association, Stanley Kaoluni, says they won't take their protest any further but will be sending a written complaint to the International Touch Federation.

This follows Niue's complaint over the makeup of Fiji's rugby touch team

According to the SPG charter countries can only submit a maximum of 14 men and 14 women for both competitions which include the mixed competition.

However, Fiji submitted 21 men and only seven women thereby breaching the charter

After a meeting and Fiji conceding its error, officials forfeited Fiji's first wins against Niue and Cook Islands and allowed them to continue but with only 14 men and 7 women.
