Two Polynesian Blue employees are facing drug charges for allegedly smuggling an illegal drug into New Zealand from Samoa.

The man and woman were arrested over a week ago.

The Samoa Observer reports Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue Airline's, Phil Boeyen, as saying the matter is before the courts.

He added that Polynesian Blue has a zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy and an investigation is underway.

Polynesian Blue is a joint venture airline of the Government of Samoa and Virgin Blue Airlines.
