French Polynesia's Twin Otters to resume service

2:23 pm on 1 October 2007

French civilian aviation authorities have cleared Air Moorea's Twin Otter planes which were grounded two weeks ago.

Radio reports say final tests will be completed today for the aircraft to join the fleet of French Polynesia's domestic airlines from tomorrow.

The planes were grounded after inspectors found irregularities in Air Moorea's maintenance procedures.

One of its Twin Otter planes crashed in August on a flight to Tahiti, killing all 20 people on board.

The cause of the crash is yet to be established.
