The American Samoa Senate is planning a public forum next month at which the people can express their views on what political path the territory should follow.
The forum will provide a platform for local residents to express their views, insights and recommendations based on the report compiled and released early this year by the Future Political Status Study Commission.
The Senate president Lolo M. Moliga says this approach will allow for individual contributions and ensure there are balanced views from all sectors of the territory's
population.
Among the recommendations in the 176-page report is one that American Samoa maintain its current status as an unincorporated and unorganized U.S. territory.
