Samoa's Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele says government CEOs who did not take part in the annual week of fasting and prayers shouldn't be holding their positions.

The Samoa Observer reports that he says fasting and praying is up to the person.

However, he went on to say that if a person is a CEO and does not fast or behaves in a manner that mocks a decision made by Government that person should not continue in the position.

Tuilaepa says few of the CEOs attended the opening or closing services marking the week of fasting.
