Fiji's interim prime minister says he has received intelligence that some overseas countries are deliberately trying to destroy Fiji's economy.

Commodore Bainimarama has told Radio Legend that these countries want the interim administration forced on its knees to compel it to hold elections.

He has accused these countries of wanting the interim administration to collapse.

Commodore Bainimarama says they don't realise that by destroying the economy, they will be hurting the general population.

The interim prime minister says the travel bans are bad enough for Fiji.

He did not name the countries but called on them not to destroy the life of the nation.
