The Pacific Islands Trade and Investment Commission, or PITIC, says tourism, agriculture and joint ventures are the top investment opportunities in Tonga .
The organisation is leading ten New Zealand based Pacific entrepreneurs to Samoa and Tonga this week as part of a mission to inspire investment there.
Its trade commissioner, Chris Cocker, says there are a number of areas it could help.
"Tourism, agriculture, there are also joint venture opportunities that we have because there are some people who have not been able to claim insurance etc and they are looking for investment opportunities in terms of property developments, whether it be hotels, resorts or commercial buildings. So maybe that's an area that we can assist in."
Chris Cocker says the fisheries sector might also be profitable.
