The Solomon Islands government has formalised an agreement with the Papua New Guinea government covering the recently introduced weekly Air Niugini service from Honiara to Fiji.
The twice-weekly flights connect Port Moresby with Honiara and Nadi.
The PNG High Commissioner, Parai Tamei, says the flights are a response to the call by the Melanesian Spearhead Group Leaders two years ago for a harmonisation of air services by the Melanesian bloc.
