The Customs Office in American Samoa is streamlining its daily operations from the 1st of January.

The Chief Customs Officer Glenn Lefiti says it has informed all shippers, consolidators and local importers about the new policy.

Mr Lefiti says it will no longer accept any paper version of the Declaration of Entry for products coming into the territory once its new computerised system is in place.

He says the new system will improve data and excise tax collections.
