Bad food debacle disputed in PNG

A senior military officer in Papua New Guinea says some aid destined for the flood stricken Oro province was damaged by bad weather.

The Post Courier reports Walter Enuma is saying that the rice donated by AusAID was among the supplies that were destroyed by rain as they were shipped to Oro.

Mr Enuma says the people who were responsible for the shipment had a responsibility to ensure the supplies got to the neediest people in good shape.
