A New Zealand millionaire businessman alleged to have been involved in a plot to assassinate interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama and key members of his Cabine is due to be released from hospital in Fiji tomorrow morning.

Fiji Live reports that Ballu Khan has been in the Suva Private Hospital for the past few weeks.

An earlier medical report on Mr Khan from the Colonial War Memorial Hospital showed that he received a fracture to the base of his skull and his jaw was broken, as a result of an alleged assault by police officers.

He was taken into custody last month over his alleged involvement in the assassination plot.

Ten other men charged in connection with the alleged plot were released on bail yesterday.
