The assistant police commissioner in Samoa, who is facing five charges including three of indecent assault, has pleaded not guilty through his defence lawyer.

The not-guilty plea was entered during a closed door hearing before the presiding judge of the District Court, Tauiliili Harry Schuster.

The assistant commissioner was charged by police in October after an investigation into allegations of attempted rape by two police women.

Meanwhile the matter will be heard again tomorrow, when the court will deliver a ruling on an application by the prosecution for the name suppression order to be lifted.
