Close eye kept on students in American Samoa stop fighting between schools

Even though schools have been closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays in American Samoa, police say they will be monitoring trouble between high school students.

For the past week police have been breaking up fights between Samoana and Tafuna high school students stemming from sports.

A police vehicle was stoned during one of the skirmishes in which rocks were used.

Store owners in Nuuuli where the fights have been happening are worried about damage to their properties and the students scaring away customers.
