The Fiji Citizens Constitutional Forum believes that with the national election just 13 months away, it was time the New Zealand Government lifted the sanctions on Fiji.
The Fiji Times reports the Forum's CEO, Reverend Akuila Yabaki, made the statement in light of a visa being granted to Parmesh Chand, the Permanent Secretary in the office of the interim Prime Minister.
Mr Chand was allowed into the country on compassionate and humanitarian grounds to attend to his wife who is on special medical treatment.
