An Australian magistrate has granted the former Solomon Islands Attorney General Julian Moti bail at a court hearing in Brisbane.

42-year-old Moti is facing seven charges of indecent acts with a child under 16, and was deported to Australia from the Solomons last month.

The magistrate set bail at 88-thousand US dollars and ordered Moti to reside at his parents' house at Castle Hill in the state of New South Wales and report to police there daily.

He's due to appear in court again in Brisbane on the 15th of February.
