American Samoa's Govenor has appendix removed

American Samoa's Governor, Togiola Tulafono, is recovering from surgery in Intensive Care in the local hospital after he had his appendix removed.

A government official said the governor experienced an allergic reaction to an anesthetic that was given to him before he went into surgery that led to breathing complications.

But he is now recovering well.
