Papua New Guinea expects drop in visitor numbers

Papua New Guinea's tourism industry says it is in limbo amid reports that tourist numbers are likely to drop due to the increase in fuel prices.

Last year tourist numbers increased to 100,000 - but that is expected to drop, as more than 100 members of the tourism association agree to increase their tourist fares this month.

The Post Courier newspaper reports the increase in fuel prices is a result of InterOil disputing a pricing formula it agreed to with the Government.
