Fiji's flag carrier, Air Pacific, is planning to by three more Boeing Dreamliner aircraft.

The planes are to be delivered in 2016 and are to be bought in addition to five Dreamliners to be delivered in 2011.

The airline chair, Nalin Patel, says he believes in the future of Fiji's tourism industry and expects growth in business within the South Pacific.

The eight aircraft will be used on the existing USA, Japan and Pacific networks and they'll help facilitate the airline's planned expansion to Asia and around the Pacific Rim.

The use of the three additional aircraft are expected to create about 160 new jobs.

The aircraft will be funded through cash flow and borrowings.
