2:37 pm on 1 February 2008

The Ministry of Police and Prisons in Samoa is tomorrow due to open its headquarters in Apia which was built under Australia's defence programme.

The opening of the new office had been delayed for some months.

This allowed Australian engineers and achitects to undertake an inspection to ensure the building codes were followed.

The new headquarters which cost just under 6 million US dollars will house most of the ministry of police and prisons main divisions.
