New Zealand makes it four from four in sevens this season

New Zealand have continued their winning run by beating South Africa 27-12 in the final of the San Diego leg of the International Rugby Board's world sevens series.

In beating Kenya to reach the final the kiwis eclipsed their own six year old record of 34 successive victories, and the victory in the cup final secured a fourth Cup victory from four so far this season, something that has never been achieved before..

The Wellington finalists Samoa were knocked out after losing 22-12 to South Africa in the Cup semifinal.

Fiji beat Argentina 26-21 in the Plate final, with Emosi Vucago scoring a sudden death extra time winner after the scores were tied at 21-21 after 14 minutes

Fiji are now third in the overal standings on 44 points, behind New Zealand with 80 and South Africa second on 48.
