The Papua New Guinea cricket side have been drawn in a tough pool as they prepare for the ICC under 19 Cricket World Cup starting in Malaysia at the weekend.

PNG qualified for the tournament after going through the East Asia Pacific Under 19 championship in Vanuatu in 2007 which involved the hosts Fiji and Japan unbeaten.

They now take on India, West Indies and South Africa in Group B.

The team which is full of promising talent will rely on captain Colin Amini, who is useful both with bat and his off-spin bowling and has already proved to be successful in the qualifying event with his leadership skills.

Amini says the team has belief they will do well.

"Our work up has been really good the boys are excited and they have worked hard for this so we think we can."
