American Samoa congressman urges public to attend wages hearing

11:22 am on 15 February 2008

American Samoa Congressman Faleomavaega Eni is urging government leaders and the private sector to testify during next week's hearing on the minimum wage.

The U.S. House subcommittee hearing will be held in American Samoa.

Faleomavaega said the minimum wage is a pressing issue as the next 50-cent hike is set for May 25th and therefore it's very important that the congressional committee hears as much from the public as possible.

He urged local leaders, members of the private sector and the community to show up and testify at the meeting next Friday.
