Papua New Guinea's justice minister has accused politicians of living Hollywood star lifestyles and widespread corruption that is destroying the country.

Dr Allan Marat this week told first year law students in the country's second largest city, Lae, that too many politicians use their position for personal gain.

Dr Marat says there is massive corruption in government today and the public service is rotton.

He says PNG is in dire need of honest and responsible leadership and urged the students to become agents of change for the good of the country.
