The creators of the US television series, Baywatch, will shoot a new movie in Fiji this year.

The Fiji Live website reports that Californian based production company, Stereo Vision Entertainment, is planning to shoot a pirate film in Fiji starting in June.

The website quotes the company's CEO, Jack Honour, as saying that Fiji offers the perfect location for the shoot.

The website reports that the production budget is 18 million US dollars and that Fiji will offer an eight million US dollars cash subsidy.

The deal was agreed on by the Californian company and the Fiji Audio Visual Commission CEO, Taniela Bolea.

However, Mr Bolea has declined to elaborate on the deal.
