Fiji athlete wins women's 200 metres hurdles at Australian Championships

Fiji sprinter , Makelesi Batimala, has become the first Fijian athlete to win a race title at the Australian Athletics Championships.

Batimala clocked 23.76 seconds to win the women's 200-metres final.

She edged out New Zealand's Monique Williams who clocked 23.79s to take second place.

Batimala had earlier finished in second place in the 400-metres women's final behind Australia's Tamsyn Lewis.
