NZ's Reeves in talks with Fiji interim regime

The Chairman of the Fiji's 1997 Constitutional Review Commission, Sir Paul Reeves, has met the Fiji interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama.

Sir Paul Reeves, a former New Zealand Governor General who is in Fiji on a nine-day visit, will also hold a second round of talks with the interim government.

Sir Paul was invited by Commodore Bainimarama and received technical and funding support from the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Yesterday, Sir Paul Reeves also met some interim ministers.

He is also scheduled to meet diplomats, political party representatives and Archbishop Petero Mataca, the Co-Chair of National Council for Building a Better Fiji.

Sir Paul concludes his follow-up visit and returns to New Zealand this weekend.
