Women in Samoa have shipped a second load of their organic coconut oil to Britain to supply the cosmetics company, the Body Shop.

Samoa is the first Pacific nation to have struck a deal with the Body Shop for its oil to be used for a coconut body product range.

The oil is produced with the support of the local NGO, Women in Business Development, and a first load had been shipped to the company in November.

The NGO's Executive Director, Adimaimalaga Tafuna'i, says it has sent another three tonnes of its oil to Britain this week.

"We've just completed a second shipment of oil to the Body Shop that went out yesterday. This weekend we're having a visit from a gentleman from the Body Shop who'll be here for a few days. He's looking at the process that we have for bringing the oil in from the villages and then getting it ready for shipment."

Adimaimalaga Tafuna'i says he'll also be collecting ideas for the marketing campaign.
