A cruise liner on hand for Pacific Arts festival in American Samoa

The Organising Committee of the Pacific Arts festival has contacted a cruise liner in Honolulu about the possibility of having one of their ships anchored in Pago Pago for the duration of the Festival.

Co-chairman Fagafaga Daniel Langkilde pitched the idea of using one of its cruise ships as a floating hotel during the festival.

Fagafaga says the committee is getting indications that there's still huge interest from people wanting to attend the festival but all the hotels are already fully booked.

He says many want hotel rooms, so a floating hotel idea might be one way of keeping people interested.

Fagafaga says their proposal is being considered and a decision should be known soon.
