New elections for Fiji Netball Association

11:44 am on 13 March 2008

Former Fiji Netball president Milika Munivai is tipped to be voted in for the top job at the Annual General Meeting in Lautoka on Saturday.

Munivai will clash with former vice president, Paulini Tora and presumably with the former national coach of the 1995 gold medal winning side at the South Pacific Games - Ana Mocelutu.

Munivai has the backing of eight associations and was elected as the President to replace Alice Tabete in January but that elections were declared invalid by the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee.

Netball Fiji is currently in disarray and is in desperate need of good leadership to steer the biggest women's sport in the country forward.

The immediate aim for the new President will be to prepare the national side for next year's World Youth championships in the Cook Islands.
