48 Asians illegally working in the logging industry in Solomon Islands have been ordered to leave the country by early next week.
The Solomon Star newspaper reports the men arrived on visitors' permits, but ended up working for a logging company without the proper approval.
The acting Commissioner of Labour Josiah Manehia says they have until next Tuesday to leave voluntarily.
He says if they fail to so they will be deported.
Mr Manehia says the 48, mainly from Malaysia and Indonesia, worked for a Malaysian logging company called Sam Lim Sam, and some had been in the country for three years.
