NZ take Hong Kong sevens

The hot favourites New Zealand won the Hong Kong rugby sevens for the first time in 7 years last night, virtually sealing an 8th IRB world title in nine years.

In the final New Zealand beat South Africa 26-12, scoring tries through Lote Raikabula, who scored twice in the first half, Steve Yates and Zar Lawrence.

In the semi-finals New Zealand beat Fiji 34-nil, and South Africa beat Samoa 12-10.

The next round of the IRB series is in Adelaide starting on Saturday.
