About 67,000 Tongans have registered to vote in Tonga's 2008 General Election.
The Electoral Officer, Pita Vuki, said the registration of voters closed on March the 31st.
The news agency, Pacnews, said that the number of voters has increased from 65,000 in 2005 to about 67,000 this year.
The voters' roll is currently being printed and it should be published next week.
There are 71 candidates running in the election, which include 28 for Tongatapu, 22 for Vava'u, nine for Ha'apai, eight for 'Eua, and four from the remote islands of Niuatoputapu and Niuafo'ou.
