The United Nations has completed a report on American Samoa in time for the UN Decolonisation Committee regional seminar to be held in Indonesia in May.

Separate working papers are either completed or being prepared for the other 15 non-self governing world territories, including Tokelau.

Unlike past annual reports, this year's 15-page working paper for American Samoa provides a more extensive look at constitutional, legal and political

issues.

It cites the Future Political Status Study Commission report, one of the main recommendations of which is, that based on the views of the general public, for American Samoa to remain part of the US.
