Reports from Fiji say a former assistant minister in the ousted cabinet has been arrested in connection with an alleged scam.
The Fijilive website quotes a deputy divisional crime officer, Waisea Kadawa, as saying the former assistant minister is in police custody and being questioned.
However, he says he cannot reveal the allegations yet.
Police believe though that the former minister promised students places at the Fiji School of Nursing for money but when their names were not on the intake list, they reported the matter to the police.
