Solomon Islands High Court has quashed proceedings regarding Russell Islands Plantation Estates Limited General Manager, John Whiteside's work and residence permit.

The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports that the Court has declared decisions by the Commissioner of Labour and Director of Immigration as defective.

On April 23rd, the Commissioner of Labour cancelled Mr Whiteside's work permit.

On the same date, the Director of Immigration had cancelled Mr Whiteside's residence permit.

But Chief Justice Albert Palmer has now quashed the cancellation of Mr Whiteside's work and residence permits.
